Cassiopeia Quinn, the Galaxy's Favorite Celebrity Outlaw
Cassiopeia Quinn was created by Gunwild and Psu, it can be read on Hiveworks
Welcome back to the blog! Here be a blog for a series I found myself enjoying a lot more than I thought I would this year. Cassiopeia Quinn wound up being one of my favorite webcomics I read this year thanks to its lovable cast. Peia is a really fun protag, and I hope this blog shows why I think she'd be cool to include in a VS show!
Background
“From now on, at any time, I could be plotting to improve your lives. This time I stole you without you even knowing! What can I do next time? You can’t tell. Because I’m the greatest thieving mastermind in the galaxy! Nyahahaha!”
The Orion Arm is a vast milky way galaxy teeming with unique alien life, groundbreaking scientific advancements, and crime. Lots and lots of CRIME. No matter the Galactic Regency's attempts at policing outer space, many smugglers are able to sink through the cracks. Among the many scoundrels across the stars, there is a thief so infamously untouchable and unpredictable, that she became a renowned celebrity known throughout the galaxy for her escapades. She goes by many titles: a heistologist, aerial speedster, and space explorerizer just to name a few. But to everyone else, she's known as the one and only Cassiopeia Quinn.
Cassiopeia is a space pirate who commits heists across the Orion Arm. With the aid of her cyborg cowboy boyfriend Zeke, the two have a practically perfect track record of stealing whatever they choose. From advanced trinkets to giant space ships, nothing is out of her reach. She's a legit celebrity, having been featured on the galactic publication for outlaws Smug numerous times.
Peia is a massive goofball who rarely takes anything seriously, the law especially. She also has a severe disdain for wearing pants. Weirdo. Regardless of how she acts, she's still an exceptional pirate, and an evasive one at that. She's constantly pursued by the Galactic Navy's persistent Captain Madison Vraxx, but Peia always manages to give her the slip (and steal from the navy in the process).
Despite being a plundering space pirate, she's more akin to a sci-fi Robin Hood. Peia mostly steals for just causes, often giving what she robs to those who need these treasures more than she does. Take the time she stole a Galactic Navy ship for instance. After dismantling it, she gave a part of it to an impoverished colony, which removed various contaminants from the air, soil, and water in the area.
Cassiopeia's upbringing wasn't the best. She lived in the Sandiego Home for Miscreant Raggamuffins up until she broke out with her only companion, her toy Beebot. The two would go on to commit robberies together, at least until Beebot was confiscated. All alone, Peia did attempt to figure out a more lawful career path by applying to all kinds of academies. Each one rejected her, which deeply affected her. She felt rejected by society and that everyone hated her, setting out for a life in space instead.
Now, she has a loving boyfriend and partner in crime, numerous allies that have her back and many adoring fans. Even Maddy came around to tolerate her presence, and set their differences aside to help her on multiple occasions. More recently, Peia had grown attached to a gang of space orphans she has been looking after. She has gone above and beyond to provide the best lives she can for them while helping finding them new families. While her life is fun and exciting, these orphans have lit up her life in a special kind of way. Sometimes, she feels like it would be better to just settle down from this life of heisting and danger to take care of these kids.
For now, there's still plenty of adventuring to be had, and still so many valuable items for Peia to get her grubby mitts on. No matter what happens from this point onwards, there will be another pirate quite like Cassiopeia Quinn.
Experience and Intelligence
As erratic and on the fly as she may act, make no mistake. Peia is an expert in her craft. She has been committing theft for most of her life, and her heists only become more grand as the years pass. Considering she's around her thirties, she's been doing this for quite a while. She runs circles around the Galactic Regency that polices the galaxy, having robbed them of items as huge as their ships. She's so notorious, that an outlaw drag race she took part in was heavily populated by bounty hunters specifically sent to capture her, and not even they could catch her. Beyond thieving, she's also an experienced space adventurer. This has led her to working alongside the likes of the Fourth Doctor and Darth Vader.
Peia may not seem like it, but she's an exceptional quick thinker. While her recklessness can be a detriment, it's this very trait that helps her weasel out of countless precarious situations. Her impressive improvisation is boosted by how hyperaware she is of everything around her, and is frequently calculating spatial relationships in her mind. This is possibly thanks to her brain growing extra fast while developing in zero gravity and extra oxygen, as Zeke theorizes. Peia is also shockingly business savvy, as she's a major investor in an ice cream company. Who woulda thunk she was a legit business tycoon who pays taxes?

Equipment
Space Suit
Cassiopeia is only human after all, so she needs a way to breathe in space. The suit itself has magnetic properties, and she's able to switch those settings on and off on various parts of her body. The helmet also has a few nifty functions, like displaying a warning message for incoming objects, a comm system that lets her talk to Zeke, and an intercept vector that helps her aim.

Automated Virtual Intelligence Hijacker
It's a robot controlling device she stole from the mad scientist Dr. Botz. It doesn't work on cyborgs or robots created to be immune to such hijacking. Peia only used this once after stealing it from Botz, now using it to level out her uneven table, partially breaking it in the process. I suppose that's a better use for it compared to enslaving innocent robots.

skriptkity
skriptkity is Peia's pet hyperintelligent cyber organism that talks in l33tsp33k. Peia uses him to hack and disable technology or pilot vehicles for her. He's able to navigate entire digital landscapes, but considering he is a virus, he can be killed inside those realms.

Beebot
Peia's childhood companion and toy that aided her with her heists that was confiscated from her many years ago. Thankfully the two were reunited in adulthood thanks to Maddy. Nowadays Beebot just vibes in their hideout and holds the fort when she and Zeke are gone :3

Personal Shield
Peia has an invisible technological full-body shield that surrounds her at all times. This keeps her from sustaining damage that would otherwise lethal, such as piercing damage. She's also able to activate a shield lock to ensnare people in it and keep them from moving.

Airspeeder
She owns an airspeeder capable of switching between a hoverbike and motorbike mode. Features of this sleek hot rod include warning system in its "hiney view" that can detect threats like snipers, and using its hoverpads to create shockwaves. By using skriptkity to disable its thrust limiters, Peia can give herself a speed boost.

Feats
Overall
- Stole a Prime Galactic Navy spacecraft by hitching a ride on top of it while in the middle of a busy spaceship fight, entered the ship’s forcefield undetected, and forced the whole crew out of the ship in a space pod.
- An entire settlement was partially named after her after she gifted its residents an omni-scrubber that removed numerous contaminants from their land
- Piloted a spaceship with her ass. Don’t ask
- Frequently fights and escapes Captain Vraxx
- Secretly accepted a task from vanaa Prince Gleb to secretly steal his own vessel and protected medical gel to provide to others
- Defeated the megalomaniacal Dr. Botz twice. First with Zeke’s help when she stole a robot controller from her—leading to a new national holiday on Planet Traman and Quinn being hailed as its savior. Second was during her heist to reclaim Motor Minx’s original body.
- Worked alongside the Fourth Doctor, Darth Vader, and IG-88
- Successfully stole scientific secrets from Ryoko Hakubi, Rick Sanchez, and Professor Farnsworth
- Took part in the Outlaw Space Race, which was rigged and filled with bounty hunters specifically to capture Cassiopeia. She fought against the likes of Mercy, Clawlossus, and Old Salt
- Collaborated with Prince Gleb in moving the space orphans’ orphanage to Vraxiopeia Colony
- Robbed a bunch of androids that were going either be reset or scrapped, letting them live their lives
Strength
- Her lasers can blast through metal
- Damselfly can lift an entire train
- Scales to Motor Minx, who blew up an entire space ship
- Once used photon warheads—weapons capable of destroying small moons—as fireworks. (Granted this is very nonstandard since not only was Zeke looking after the warheads, she'd need a ship capable of firing them… which she deconstructed swiftly afterwards)
Speed
- Dodged a speeding spacecraft flying at least below lightspeed
- Scales to Motor Minx, who deflected and dodged spaceship missiles and evaded a ship's laser that bisected a building. Motor Minx is supposedly the fastest swordfighter in the galaxy who can beat opponents with reaction times under a tenth of a second
Durability
Weaknesses
- She’s super impulsive, too reckless for her own good. Sometimes to the detriment of those she cares about

What could be better for a famous, carefree reckless and adventurous galactic outlaw, who faced off against the galactic government, originating from Earth with various technological weaponry to complete their tasks? Well, how about another famous, carefree reckless and adventurous galactic outlaw, who faced off against the galactic government, originating from Earth with various technological weaponry to complete their tasks?
Alena Kuznecova who mainly known as Meteora from the verse of Russia's Bubble Comics is basically an answer. Her story technically may be not particularly long (9 Volumes), but she did manage to do enough stuff from here on out to fight: Spaceship with faster than light travel and even own robotic hands to pick things up, a space gun which every self-respecting space outlaw has on their hand, a holoprojector that can create visual illusions, explosives, a spacesuit with jetpacks that allow her to be mobile in space and land, an EMP grenade, and obviously her own improvisational skills in lots of these situations help her to stand out in a fight against multiple armed soldiers even when she's not as well prepared, whether she uses people's weapons against them, messes with environment and still manages to crack some joke in-between.
The fight dynamic practically presents while pretty grounded, fun cosmic/sci-fi gun fight where alongside their futuristic equipment they also can have environment through their character to mess around against each other. Not that complex, but just fun in its own way. Debate overall probably isn't particularly hard assuming you have to find the winner, given Meteora being pretty short story compared to other Bubble's stories and Alena never actually interacting with other characters outside of her story, meaning you don't need to go beyond herself to see whether she may scale to some other possible feats.
